Welcome to FS1

Miss Miller, Miss Richardson, Mrs Rendall and Miss Douthwaite welcome you to the FS1 team.  We hope that your child has a wonderful, happy and successful year with us. If you have any concerns or issues that you need to speak to us about, please do not hesitate to ask.

School Topic for Spring Term

Our whole school topic for the Spring term is 'Life on Earth' where we will be focusing on art skills. The children will be experimenting with paint, textures and collage linked to the author Eric Carle. We will also be continuing to focus upon making positive relationships and taking care of the lovely things in our school, and alongside this we will be starting a new Power of Reading book 'Brown Bear Brown Bear what do you see?' and carrying on with our White Rose maths planning.

The children will also be carrying on with dough disco to help strengthen their hands and wrists ready for writing and 'Squiggle whilst you wiggle' where children will be learning to write letter shapes while moving their bodies along to music.

Homework and Readers

We will be sending home some nursery rhymes for your child to learn. If your child brings a book bag into school they will be able to take a book home from our shared reading area and these books can be changed every day. We do ask that you borrow just one book at a time so that there are enough books for everyone. We look forward to finding out which books your children have enjoyed reading with you.
