We thought it would be fun to do a little egg decorating competition this Easter. The idea is that the children decorate a hard boiled egg at home and bring it in to school on:

To to help us understand how August was feeling and what he would be thinking, we acted out the 'grand tour' from our book study book, "Wonder."
Unfortunately, because of the snow and icy conditions it has been decided that our gymnasts and staff will now not travel to the Yorkshire U11 Floor and Vault competition on Sunday.

We've now started using our own bar models to solve some worded problems.
Today we enjoyed some collaborative learning. Year 5 and 6 came together to start our journey into the use of bar models to aid our problem solving. Watch this space to see how we get on!
Five of our gymnasts gave up a morning of their holiday this morning to meet Beth and Mr Claybourn at Grimsby Gymnastics Club for an extra practice session in preparation for the up-and-coming Yorkshire regional U11 Floor and Vault competition.

These are our finished poppy artworks.
First we used a mix of black paint and pva glue to “pipe” the outline of the flowers then we used reds, yellows and orange watercolour paints to paint the poppies, finishing off with a black background wash to make the poppies “pop”.

Year 6 visited the local cenotaph to pay our respects and to look at the wreaths.
Using black paint, water and glue we made a waterproof border to start this artwork. Special thanks to Mrs Riggs and Miss Man.
